Together with the OGBL, let’s shape the future of the Luxembourg financial sector: thus ensuring fairer and more attractive working conditions for a motivated workforce.

Our programme of action focuses on six areas. We aim for fair wages, investment in continuing education, a better work-life balance, optimised working conditions, strengthened social dialogue, and a key role in the societal transition.

Axis 1

Fair remuneration in the Luxembourg financial sector

The OGBL is calling for fair wages based on skills and experience, advocating for more collective wage increases to retain talent with demands such as a competitive system, increases for all, an allowance for equal pay, and the maintenance of automatic indexation.

Axis 2

Investing in human capital for the financial future.

The OGBL stresses the importance of providing opportunities for skills development, reskilling and acquiring digital skills. The OGBL advocates for an individual right to training, a reform of skills-based pay, and securing career paths through the strengthening of social dialogue.

Axis 3

Working time and quality of life.

The OGBL advocates flexible working arrangements to foster a conducive environment, encouraging work-life balance in the financial sector. The OGBL is calling for a legal framework for atypical work, while highlighting that the reduction of working hours, while preserving wages, improves professional quality, stimulates worker motivation and strengthens economic competitiveness. Particular emphasis is placed on the right to part-time work guaranteeing a return to full-time work.

Axis 4

Extend Collective Agreements for Professional Equity.

The OGBL underlines the importance of collective agreements in a sector led by important international groups, saying that these agreements are essential to promote social peace, guarantee fair working conditions and meet the interests of employees and employers. The OGBL’s commitment to broaden the scope of collective agreements aims to ensure a level playing field for all workers in the financial sector, thereby strengthening unity and social cohesion.

Axis 5

Promoting balance and mental health – social dialogue and trade union rights at work.

The OGBL fosters a balanced working environment by promoting social dialogue, co-determination, and the strengthening of trade union rights. The union emphasizes prevention, supports balanced social dialogue to ensure the health of employees, while advocating for the protection of fundamental trade union rights and social security. It also defends human control of artificial intelligence and calls for measures in favor of mental health, employee well-being, and benefits such as supplementary insurance and pension plans.

Axis 6

Finance Luxembourg: Economic and Social Excellence.

The OGBL advocates for the maintenance of Luxembourg’s financial excellence by preserving its attractive advantages for foreign investors. At the same time, he stresses the importance of preserving indexation without manipulation to guarantee political stability. The union also calls for European directives to be adapted to Luxembourg’s geopolitical realities, rejecting any proposal to lower working conditions or not respect rights of vigilance in order to remain competitive in the European context.
