Who are we?

The main tasks of the Cement, Ceramics, Chemistry, Glass, Paper, Plastic, Rubber, Textiles and Wood Syndicate, in abbreviated form Chemistry Syndicate, are to defend the interests of our members, in particular through our collective bargaining policy and our positions on all issues related to the world of work.

Collective bargaining in companies enables us to defend the interests of employees as closely as possible. This by taking into account the situation of the company and of each type of work. With a real power relationship vis-à-vis the companies, we restore balance in the working relationship and we are committed to real social progress.

Today as yesterday, the OGBL fights against all forms of discrimination. Together, with all our bodies and departments, we fight so that the ideals of freedom, solidarity, equality and social justice prevail in society.

Competent for whom and for which institutions?

Our syndicate is at the service of all employees and apprentices working in industrial companies that produce or work with chemicals, wood, rubber, ceramics, cement, paper, textiles, plastics and glass as well as food products.

Organization of the Chemistry Syndicate

At the head of the Chemistry Syndicate is the syndicate leadership, consisting of the staff delegates from the various companies in the sector and committed militants.

The OGBL acts at the European and international level.

In order to keep abreast of what is happening in our industries and to be able to act, both at the European and international level, the syndicate is a member of the industriAll European Trade Union and the industriAll Global Union.
