A collective agreement for neimënster

The signing of a first collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for the employees of neimënster marks the consolidation of social benefits and  the achievement of new ones.

On February 9, 2024, a first CBA was signed between representatives of the OGBL and the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye Neumünster – also known as neimënster – at the end of negotiations that took place in a calm working climate and in the continuous search for constructive social dialogue.

Approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Government Council, the CBA, signed for a period of 3 years (January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026), includes among others the following benefits

  • increase in the value of meal vouchers from €10.80 to €15 per voucher;
  • adjustment of the salary scale: increase of the step progression from 0.7% to 1% and from 0.5% to 0.7% depending on the group, with reclassification of employees to the next higher step;
  • implementation of a seniority bonus with retroactive effect:
    • 1000 € for 10 years of service,
    • 2000 € for 20 years of service,
    • 3000 € for 30 years of service;
  • 2 additional days of vacation for employees over the age of 60;
  • introduction of a right to disconnect.

Previously acquired benefits, such as the payment of a 13th month’s salary, family allowances and additional leave depending on the employee’s age, have of course been maintained under the terms of the new collective agreement.

The signatory parties welcome the agreement, which improves the current working conditions for all employees and enables nëimenster to increase its attractiveness as an employer among the cultural institutions of the Grand Duchy.
