We are the professional syndicate for all employees working in the industrial sector: in chemical, metal and food production companies.

The Syndicate Industrie is committed to defending the material, professional and social interests of employees in the industrial sector. A continuous policy within the framework of collective bargaining agreements, as well as at sector level, guarantees the improvement and safeguarding of working conditions in the sector.

Syndicate Industrie

The Syndicate Industrie was born of the merger of the Wood, Rubber, Ceramics, Chemistry, Cement, Paper, Plastics, Textiles and Glass syndicate and the Metal Processing Syndicate in November 2024. This strategic merger reflects our determination to strengthen our presence in Luxembourg’s industrial sector and join forces to better defend the interests of employees and apprentices.

Now representing a significant proportion of industry, we are in touch with all employees in the following sectors:

  • Food: companies producing beer, bakery and pastry products, milk, water, tobacco products, meat and butchery products.
  • Chemicals: Companies producing wood, rubber, ceramics, chemicals, cement, paper, plastics, textiles and glass.
  • Metal processing: companies producing metallurgical products.

Our missions and demands

The Syndicate Industrie is dedicated to :

  • Defending employees’ interests through a proactive policy of collective bargaining and collective bargaining agreements with career and general wage increases.
  • Improving working conditions, pay and career advancement in partnership with staff delegations.
  • Reduced working hours with wage adjustments.
  • The implementation of a Luxembourg and European industrial policy in the interests of employees.
  • The fight against all forms of discrimination, while promoting the values of freedom, solidarity, equality and social justice.

Thanks to an active presence on the ground, we are working to establish a balance of power to guarantee concrete social advances.

A strong and dedicated organization

The Syndicate Industrie is run by the syndicate leadership and an executive board made up of shop stewards and committed militants from companies in our sectors.

The syndicate leadership meets several times a year to discuss all matters relating to the industry sector, particularly collective bargaining agreements. The union leadership is elected by the sector’s staff representatives during the Union Day.

Collective bargaining agreement tariff committees are made up of all OGBL delegates from the companies concerned.

The Syndicate Industrie is represented on all OGBL decision-making instances.
